I had an appointment on 9/5, Saturday night with my Taiwanese schoolmates
who had studied with me in Los Angeles for three months.

I never expected there were so many Taiwanese in the language school where I
studied.

Of course, it definitely was bad for our English learning,
but it was great that we still could meet each other after coming back
to Taiwan.

Although some of them live in the South of Taiwan, it is still
nearer than living in different countries.

However, my friends gave me a big surprise on 9/5.

They all knew one of our Japanese classmates would also make it for our dinner
gathering, but they all hid it from me.

Because that Japanese guy, Nao, was one of my good friends in LA, he asked them to do so.

Unfortunately, I felt so sleepy and tired on that day, so when I saw
him, I thought I was dreaming and couldn’t believe it!

Anyway, it was kind of weird that we got together with the same people, but in a
different country. We still had a lot of fun anyway.

Nao just started to learn Mandarin a few months ago, but he spoke well
with standard pronunciation, maybe because, not like other Japanese,
he could pronounce /r/ sound and he is enthusiastic and curious about
everything.

For example, he seized every opportunity to practice his Mandarin.

And, mostly, we can’t see A and B’s differences, but he says
they are so different.

After he went to Jiou-Fen , he told me that Taiwanese houses are “crazy” and totally different from Japanese! I thought, “Aren’t they similar?”

He took lots of pictures of Taiwan scenery and he will put them on his blog when he goes back
to Osaka. He is super good at photo shooting. Everyone is welcome to visit his blog.
